Class Schedules
What do parents think of the class schedules? Speak up.
The sensible approach is to allow a snack time during one of the periods before lunch, but that might cause an inconvenience to the staff. Perhaps, this would allow students an opportunity to begin practicing responsible habits as they prepare for one of the many transitions to high school. Stop treating the students as if they are in reform school. Start a petition to make the change.
I would like to comment about Edmodo. I think it's too much work for kids to have to log on to it to get assignments. My son doesn't get home until 6:30 or 7:00. He eats and starts homework. If he had regular worksheets, he could work on them in the car, on the bus or anywhere. Now we have to download Dropbox for another assignment. Why is the school pushing technology? I have a mtg with the teachers and Cinny to complain. I need other parents to speak up too.
Was any thought given as to whether all students have access to a computer, printer, or internet? Actions without thought by the leadership. I hope students and parents have voiced their thoughts.
I love the technology approach. It's how we do business so I want my child to be exposed. We constantly stuggle with new employees that don't have basic computer skills. By the time our children apply for jobs, this will no longer be such a problem in the work force. It seems the Junior High has TONS of opportunity for open computer labs. We just have to set priorities for ourselves and our children.
Why does one think it appropriate to do homework in the car? Where is the environment conducive to learning? It seems homework takes a back seat to "activities".
absolutely wonderful! So nice to get such great info!
ReplyDelete8th grade lunch is 1230. that means 5 hours with no food and heavy class load. Any chance of snack?

DeleteIam astonished that technology is pushed yet I can not get a response by email from teachers, very frustrating.
